HBsAg Kit
Hepatitis B is a liver infection caused by the Hepatitis B virus—a partially double-stranded DNA virus. The severity of Hepatitis B ranges from an acute, short-term illness to a chronic, lifelong condition, placing individuals at high risk of death from cirrhosis, liver failure, and liver cancer. Chronic Hepatitis B can be treated with medication, whereas there is no specific treatment for acute infections. The virus is transmitted through contact with the blood or other bodily fluids of an infected person. The presence of the Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) indicates that the individual is infectious.
Intended Use:
The HBsAg test is a rapid immunochromatographic assay designed for the qualitative detection of the Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) in human serum, plasma, and whole blood samples.
• The presence of HBsAg indicates that the individual is infected.
• It allows for the direct detection of viral antigens and all HBsAg subtypes, ensuring high accuracy.
Performance Evaluation:
• Sensitivity: 100%
• Specificity: 99.89%
