Dengue NS1, IgG/IgM Kit
Simultaneous detection of IgG/IgM and the NS1 antigen in blood can assist in distinguishing between primary and secondary infections, as well as in monitoring the acute phase of a Dengue infection. The NS1 antigen can be detected in samples from patients with Dengue (whether primary or secondary) from the first to the seventh day following the onset of fever. In a primary Dengue infection, IgM becomes detectable around the fourth or fifth day of the illness and persists in the body for several months. IgG, however, appears after IgM and may remain in the body for a lifetime; while the levels of this antibody rise in both primary and secondary infections, they reach significantly higher values in secondary infections.
Intended Use:
The Dengue NS1, IgG/IgM test kit is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay designed for the qualitative detection of the NS1 antigen and IgM/IgG antibodies against the Dengue virus in whole blood, serum, or plasma samples. This kit is intended for use as a screening test to aid in the diagnosis of Dengue infections.
• Detects both IgG and IgM isotypes, as well as the NS1 antigen of the Dengue virus.
Performance Evaluation:
For IgG/IgM:
• Sensitivity: 95.8%
• Specificity: 99.9%
For NS1:
• Sensitivity: 95.9%
• Specificity: 96.2%
