Tuberculosis (TB) Kit
Tuberculosis (TB) is a bacterial infection transmitted through the inhalation of tiny droplets released when an infected person speaks, coughs, or sneezes. Poorly ventilated environments pose the highest risk for contracting this infection. The bacterium *Mycobacterium tuberculosis*, the causative agent of TB, primarily affects the lungs.
TB is recognized as a major global health challenge. The highest burden of the disease is found in Southeast Asia (43%), followed by Africa (25%) and the Western Pacific region (18%). According to the latest data from the World Health Organization, approximately 10 million people worldwide contract TB annually, and 1.5 million lose their lives to the disease. Although TB is both preventable and treatable, it remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality globally and in many individual countries. In this context, early diagnosis and treatment are of critical importance.
Intended Use:
The TB test is a rapid, serological immunochromatographic assay designed for the qualitative detection of antibodies (IgG, IgM, and IgA isotypes) produced against *Mycobacterium tuberculosis* antigens in whole blood, serum, or plasma samples.
• Comprehensive detection of IgA, IgM, and IgG. • Complete detection of TB-related antibody isotypes.
Performance Evaluation:
• Sensitivity: 85.0%
• Specificity: 99.0%
