Rotavirus Kit
Rotaviruses, a genus within the *Reoviridae* family, are double-stranded RNA viruses and the primary cause of gastroenteritis—an illness that leads to severe diarrhea and dehydration in infants and young children. Two to three days after contracting a rotavirus infection, symptoms ranging from mild to severe may appear, typically including watery diarrhea, loss of appetite, and dehydration (loss of body fluids). Rotavirus is primarily transmitted via the fecal-oral route, either through direct person-to-person contact or indirectly via contaminated surfaces and objects (fomites). Although no specific cure for rotavirus exists, early diagnosis and appropriate medical care can reduce the severity of symptoms and the associated mortality rate.
